IPH Mechanical ServicesRocky Point Engineering was retained to provide mechancial design services for the new central heating plant at Brocklehurst Middle School located in Kamloops, BC for School District #73.
This boiler upgrade is one of the 2013/2014 Carbon Neutral Capital Program projects funded by the Ministry of Education, of which Rocky Point provided the CNCP report and carbon offset calculations. Fortis BC also contributed to the project as part of their Efficient Boiler Program One existing 4,185 MBH boiler was replaced with two condensing boilers as the central heating plant for this middle school. It is expected that the new central plant will reduce gas consumption to 65% of previous levels, while also providing heating redundancy that was lacking from the original installation in 1968.
