The new 2,600 sq metre project is a one-storey addition to expand the existing Emergency Department, aiding in facilitation access to critical care for the community. The new facility houses two new emergency resuscitation rooms, a decontamination area, airborne isolation rooms, flexible Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) zone. Additionally the new emergency department has increased the total number of patient treatment bays, and provides for a separate pediatric and waiting area for children.
Rocky Points expertise was integral in developing the mechanical, plumbing, medical gas, and fire protection designs for the facility. Design involved interconnections to the existing mechanical system within the lower-level mechanical room, and ensuring seamless integration with the rest of the hospital’s infrastructure. The completed project showcases RPE’s commitment to delivering high-quality mechanical engineering solutions for healthcare facilities.
