Maple Grove Elementary is a new replacement school with capacity for 500 students. It is Canada’s first open air school, and is built to the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold standard.
Project Scope:
- Hybrid mechanical ventilation system allowing shutdown of individual classroom ventilation systems when temperature and carbon dioxide set points are attained;
- Heating / Cooling plant is air-to-water heat pump supplemented by condensing boilers for peak winter weather conditions. Heat scavenging from building relief air is captured for supplementary heat to the main heating loop.
