Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for construction administration on various types of construction sites, which includes general plumbing and mechanical construction compliance with local, provincial, and national building codes as well as adhering to contract documents as prepared by Rocky Point Engineering.

Compensation:

Compensation levels will be based on relevant experience, experience level, relevant skills, professional qualifications, role and responsibilities and will be in the range of $60,000 to $90,000 per Anum.

 

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities will include, but not necessarily limited to the following:

  • Conducting and documenting field reviews of plumbing and mechanical systems at various stages of construction progress.
  • Preparation of field review reports and observation reports along with photographic record of the plumbing and mechanical installation.
  • Must have the ability to travel within and outside of the lower mainland including periodic overnight trips
  • Be familiar with site safety requirements and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Be familiar with and able to interpret applicable building codes, standards and mechanical specifications.
  • Be familiar with and able to read and interpret plumbing and mechanical drawings.
  • Attend contractor/client site meetings and manage construction related correspondence.
  • Maintain a high level of client service and communication.
  • Be responsible, in a timely fashion, for construction related correspondence such as SI’s (site instructions), RFI’s (requests for information), CO’s (Change Orders)
  • Be responsible to review the contractors progress and progress claims for payment approval.
Skills/Qualifications
  • University degree, College/Technology diploma in Mechanical/Building Engineering or appropriate trade background in plumbing and mechanical installations.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Mechanical Engineering design, or working in a mechanical construction trade as a senior laborer would be an asset.
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Email communication.
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet project deadlines as necessary.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and vehicle.
