Emily Carr University of Art & Design is a new, four storey university located on Great Northern Way in Vancouver. It was completed in August of 2017 and received LEED® Gold Certification standards. The project was constructed under a PPP procurement method with an extremely aggressive schedule which was met by the design build team.

The new campus at Great Northern Way accommodates 1,800 students and provides modern, spacious facilities for national and international students. The 285,000 square foot campus is a creative cultural hub in Vancouver for learning in art, design, media and applied research.

Project Scope:

Rocky Point provided design of the plumbing and mechanical systems for the project, which includes a state of the art mechanical system featuring active chilled beam technology, dedicated heat recovery chiller plant, air side heat recovery and demand control ventilation exhaust systems.

The building is currently exceeding energy performance expectations by up to 50% and is the most energy efficient building connected to the City of Vancouver Neighborhood Energy Utility.
