The primary objective of the project was to provide a new sanitary pump stations for the new developments in NE Albion, to satisfy new operation requirements, and house a separate electrical service, odor control room, dry well and wet well.
The project involved a full new pump station and related faculties just off Stewart Crescent in Maple Ridge. Firstly a new set of sanitary pumps were installed in the new dry well. Provisions were provided to maintain the required ACH as required by the room classification. The electrical room was provided with a first stage exhaust system and a dedicated split AC system for secondary cooling. Unit heaters were provided in all the rooms as the primary heating system. The odor control room was left unventilated and unconditioned. A makeup air system was provide to work alongside the odor control system. Additionally, a new exterior standby generator was supplied and installed, complete with a fuel tank and sound attenuating enclosure.
Our team provided complete heating, ventilation, and plumbing design for the building permit, tender, and construction. We took into account that the booster station would require minimal plumbing and provisions for an operator washroom.
Finally, we provided a mechanical system design report and a budget estimate for the installation of the mechanical and plumbing system inside the building. Our team’s focus was on ensuring that NE Albion Pump Station operated at peak efficiency, while also taking into account the safety and well-being of those who would be working in and around the facility.
